The Intelligent Valve Monitor (IVM) is a monitoring and data logging device for use with K-Rain's 6000 series Hydrotek indexing valves. The IVM will confirm the valve is cycling correctly, and log all activity. The IVM6000 can be easily designed into new systems using these valves, or retro-fitted onto existing systems. The only modification required is to replace the valve's original disk-and-stem assembly with our sensor-equipped disk-and-stem assembly supplied with the monitor; a simple, two minute process.
Because of the simple retro-fit design, the device can also be very portable. System operators can install an IVM temporarily to confirm correct operation or to trouble-shoot a system that is malfunctioning. The same monitor can then be easily removed and used on another valve fitted with the IVM sensor-equipped disk-and-stem assembly.
A single unit can easily be configured to monitor 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 outlet valves, eliminating the need for a different unit for each valve type. The IVM can be further tailored to an individual system by setting various parameters such as minimum and maximum on time, and the maximum allowable error percentage.
The sliding-window period over which the IVM watches the valve can also be adjusted, and the unit calculates percentage and average on-times for each outlet per inlet based on this period. Errors and warnings are stored in an event log, including the date and time that these errors occurred. All of this information can be viewed on-site on the IVM's LCD screen, which also provides visual indication of any active outlets.
Battery powered for portable use, the unit requires no external connections, and no extra wires or cables need to be run. For permanent installs, the unit has a wide-range AC or DC external power connection, and a set of alarm contacts can be connected back to any standard panel. The IVM has a low power standby mode to conserve battery power in the field while still collecting data, and a micropower shut-down mode in order to maximize shelf life during storage.
The IVM6000 is an informational tool that provides verification that sewage treatment systems are functioning as they should. It's easy to use and easy to install, and provides valuable, accurate information without spending the time and resources to monitor the valve manually. The IVM 6000 makes troubleshooting, monitoring and maintenance much easier, and much more efficient.
