A component of a wastewater management system which involves applying effluent (treated to various quality levels) to the land. ETC prefers subsurface effluent dispersal methods using absorption trenches or beds, at-grade systems, or subsurface drip irrigation. Land based effluent dispersal (LBED) is an alternative to direct discharge to a water course or water body.
